Wednesday 23 January 2013
We start our journey at luxurious Steenberg Hotel, situated on one of Cape Town’s oldest wine farms, in the tranquil Constantia valley. Its lovingly restored Cape Dutch buildings are National Monuments and combine 17th-century elegance with modern luxuries. Dinner is at its contemporary restaurant, Bistro Sixteen82.
Hotel: Steenberg Hotel

Thursday 24 January 2013
Sally leads a golf clinic in the morning, then we play a round at the Steenberg Golf Club. Its exclusive, private 18-hole course was designed to make full use of natural features and hazards such as the vineyards, pine forest and gentle waterways. Sally will give you tips and tricks to improve your game as we go. Dinner is at a well-known restaurant at the V&A Waterfront.

Friday 25 January 2013
Choose between a round of golf at the Clovelly Country Club, which has an 18-hole par 72 course, or a full-day Cape Peninsula tour, which takes us from wild, rugged Cape Point at the tip of the peninsula, to Table Mountain, its crowning glory. Dinner is at one of Sally’s favourite restaurants, Buitenverwachting, set on another of the city’s historical wine farms.

Saturday 26 January 2013
Sally leads a class at Pearl Valley, a Jack Nicklaus signature course in the heart of the winelands. We play a round on this pristine 18-hole course, surrounded by the Simonsberg and Drakenstein mountains, then head back to Steenberg for some well-deserved rest, or perhaps a pampering treatment at the spa. We have dinner at the estate’s acclaimed Catherina’s Restaurant.

Sunday 27 January
We leave Cape Town and travel by luxury coach to our next golfing destination. Fancourt, near George on the scenic Garden Route, is the country’s premier golf resort, with all three of its courses ranked in South Africa’s Top 20 in the 2011 Golf Digest rankings. The Fancourt Hotel, a fine blend of modern luxury and classic elegance, serves as our base. We stop for a light lunch en route, and have dinner at Fancourt.

Monday 28 January 2013
Sally leads a training session at Fancourt’s state-of-the-art practice facilities, then we play a round of golf on the Montagu Course, a beautiful and much celebrated parkland course.

Tuesday 29 January 2013
Choose between a round of golf at Pezula Golf Course, situated on scenic coastal cliffs, or a tour of the picturesque town of Knysna and its beautiful lagoon. The Knysna Oyster Company is a must-visit, as is Featherbed Private Nature Reserve. We have dinner in town, at the intimate Firefly Eating House overlooking the lagoon.

Wednesday 30 January 2013
Sally leads another golf clinic, then we play a round at The Links at Fancourt. Home to the 2003 Presidents Cup, this Gary Player-designed course was named the number one course in South Africa in the 2011 Golf Digest rankings, and offers a golfing experience not to be missed. There’s then time for a relaxing treatment at the Fancourt Spa, followed by dinner at the hotel.

Thursday 31 January & Friday 1 February
We leave Fancourt and travel to Shamwari Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape. This malaria-free reserve is home to the Big Five, and offers an unsurpassed African wilderness experience. Long Lee Manor, a restored Edwardian home, offers guests refined comfort, congenial service, enticing cuisine, and wonderful game viewing. Our two-night stay is fully inclusive and includes two game drives a day.

Saturday 2 February 2013
We leave Shamwari and transfer to Port Elizabeth airport for our flights home.
